I work at the seam of design systems, AI agents, and enterprise UI workflows. 20+ years building interfaces under real constraints. The current chapter is machine-readable contracts, reconciliation loops, and the guardrails that keep generated UI in agreement with the system it belongs to.
AI can generate UI. It cannot keep it aligned. I would rather build the guardrails than be the production line.

Two decades at the seam
I am a design engineer. Over two decades in web, app, and product design, through several reinventions of how the work gets done.
What I do now sits one layer below the screen. I treat design systems as contracts that both people and machines can read, and I build the specs, tooling, and reconciliation that keep design, code, and documentation telling the same story. I hold a patent-pending application as sole inventor on that reconciliation method, which I treat as evidence of how I think, not a business.
